Growth is part of our DNA, and 2023 was no different. Acrisure's trajectory has taken us on a historic journey, going from $38 million in revenue to $4 billion in just ten years. This pattern of growth continued in 2023 as we reached $4.3B pro forma revenue (1).
We continued to expand internationally, adding Portugal, Poland, Romania, Buglaria, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Moldova to the locations where we serve clients. We also welcomed thousands of new colleagues around the world.
All of this growth is in service of our clients. Our mission is to help people and businesses grow and protect what matters most. Today, 1 in nearly 20 small businesses in America is an Acrisure client (2). We continue to add new financial services solutions such as payroll to help meet the needs of clients like these and more.
In order to take a total client view across all our locations, we also transformed our business through Platforms which operate as one team in service to our clients.
None of this would be possible without the foundation of a solid and recognizable brand. Acrisure has invested heavily into brand partnerships and AI-driven marketing in the past year to help clients know who we are and what we offer. In 2023, we welcomed legendary recording artist and entrepreneur Lionel Richie as Global Brand Ambassador. Lionel is a key part of Acrisure's innovative digital marketing strategy.
2023 marked the second year of our partnership with the iconic Pittsburgh Steelers. We are proud to partner with them in the Pittsburgh community and are once again bringing fans unique perspectives and insights throughout the NFL season with the Acrisure Fan Advantage. We also celebrated the grand opening of Acrisure Arena in Palm Springs, California, which has quickly become a premier entertainment destination.
At the end of the day, Acrisure strongly believes that with financial success comes a responsibility to give back to the communities where we work and serve. In 2023, we built upon our commitment to children's health with a $7.5 million donation to UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh to support the construction of their new Heart Institute. We also celebrated the ribbon cutting for the Acrisure Center for Innovation at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids.
