Josh joined the Acrisure team in late 2023. In this Employee Spotlight, we invited him to share more about his role as a leader within the Talent Acquisition team.

What drew you to Acrisure?

When I joined the company at the end of 2023 as a Recruiter, I was impressed with the opportunity to help build infrastructure for a multibillion-dollar company that was continuing to grow.  I also felt like I was joining at a critical turning point of the company and would thrive in the change.

The growth continued as the company further invested in Talent Acquisition, creating additional advancement options.  I am very thankful to have been selected to lead our East TA Team as a Talent Acquisition Manager and build a best-in-class team.

What is the TA team’s role at Acrisure?

Our team is a critical partner in building and shaping our organizational needs while partnering with our leaders.

What are three skills that separate good employees from great employees on your team?

The three main skills that identify a great employee on my team are:

  • Communication
  • Follow through
  • Continuous growth and the ability to learn and adapt

You can make an immediate difference even with a large company.

How do you balance autonomy with support on your team?

Autonomy is a two-way street. As a leader, I need to provide and create an environment that capitalizes on the team members' strengths while supporting each individual's work.  As employees, we have a responsibility to communicate efforts, progress, results, and needs.  Trust is earned both ways through consistent, predictable actions.

While I believe in the ability of my team, the work that they do and giving the space needed, I also make myself readily available to support each with stated needs.  Beyond the ask, I am constantly churning behind the scenes in order to create clear runways for the team to be successful.

Who thrives on this team?

People who thrive on my team tend to be curious, act with a sense of urgency, communicate effectively with all parties, and love what they do.

What keeps you energized outside of the office?

Multiple things help me find balance and recharge my batteries outside of the office.  I find energy focusing on family & friends, remaining active by checking off home projects and maintenance, cooking, spending time in the woods or just being outside, martial arts, and whatever else I can get myself into.
